The Porcine Pardon: Hog Named 6-7 Pardoned by Miami-Dade Leader.

While perhaps not at the equivalent scale as sparing holiday birds, but the county's top official had her own ceremonial pardon event this week by ritually sparing the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava carried out the annual tradition at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. Clemency is justified for her. No offenses are on her docket,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with obvious nods to the vast quantity of executive clemencies issued since the commencement of a second term in office.

“Unless you count eating six or seven apples per day,” she went on. “Let this swine have a prosperous future without fear.”

The event, which both honors and questions the area's customary feast of eating roast pork during the holidays, was established to replicate the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The animal, provided by a local firefighter, was christened after the current slang trend of young people shouting “six seven” – deriving from a musical verse – often for no discernable reason. The phrase became so pervasive that a prominent word reference recently named “6-7” its top term for the year.

A Future Secured

The pardoned swine is now set to enjoy its days at a countryside refuge “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“This swine clemency has become a cherished method to begin the end-of-year celebrations,” said the cafe owner, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the essence of Miami: happy, diverse, and rooted in traditions that unite the community. Every time, we are honored to observe tradition and kindness in a way unique to Miami.”

Participants enjoyed a meat-free selection of spinach croquetas and strong coffee as they toasted the pig's pardon.
