Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA recently following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
