Line of Duty Announced for Seventh Season on the British Broadcaster
The acclaimed crime series AC-12 is officially returning for its 7th installment, announced by the broadcaster.
An upcoming six-part series created by Jed Mercurio will begin filming in Belfast this spring, as confirmed by the network.
The actress expressed excitement about the return, saying she was "thrilled" about the show's renewal. Her co-star added, "How wonderful it is to know that the main trio will be back filming together next year."
The previous season concluded in recent years with a final episode that drew in more than 17 million viewers. Rumors about a potential return have been circulating ever since, but official word only came recently.
New Challenges for AC-12
The seventh season begins with AC-12 having been disbanded and renamed as the Inspectorate of Police Standards, as revealed by production details.
Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Adrian Dunbar's part continue tasked to combat corruption within the police force.
Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, the trio are assigned their "most delicate case so far."
New Character and Intricate Plot
A new character, DI Dominic Gough, portrayed as a charismatic officer known for takedowns of organized crime, is accused of misusing his authority to act as a offender.
