Ex- BBC Consultants Undergo Members of Parliament's Inquiry After Claims of Prejudice in Disclosed Memorandum

Former British Broadcasting Corporation specialists testifying in front of parliamentary committee

We start with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, that oversees the group.

She opens by offering background to the unauthorized memo authored by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC leaning this way or that way, I just want it straight, unbiased and fair," he says.

When asked whether he considers the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser answers: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC does is world class - including documentary and fictional programming."

But he adds: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."

The second previous consultant BBC specialist interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it has a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted topics.

"Whether the BBC was ready to conduct a thorough conversation and debate and implement changes?" she questions. "As I see it, yes they were."
