Cameron Norrie earned the biggest win of his career by rallying from a lost first set to beat world No 1 Carlos Alcaraz in three hard-fought sets in the second round of the Paris Masters.

To get a victory like this, it's the greatest victory of my career, my initial victory over the global number one and likely the strongest athlete in the world right now."

The British player, ranked 31st in the world, also ended Alcaraz's dominant sequence of nine finals in a row and 17 successive Masters 1000 victories, which marked the finest stretch of outcomes in the Spaniard's developing professional path.
